Fall River Heritage State Park

The Taunton River is one of Massachusetts' most notable waterways, and one of the best places to enjoy visiting is Battleship Cove, also home to the USS Massachusetts that served in World War II. The 8.5 acre Fall River Heritage State Park offers you a great way to enjoy this part of the state.
About the battleship
Across the cove from the park lies the restored USS Massachusetts, which served in both the Atlantic and Pacific fleets during the war before it was decommissioned. Converted to a museum ship in 1985, she attracts thousands of tourists yearly.
Fun at the park
Fall River Heritage State Park offers a great way to look at the ship from the outside and marvel at the engineering that goes into such construction. The park also hosts a variety of sailing classes open to the public, so if you always wanted to get out on the water, this is a great place to start. A trail winds along the river's edge, offering awesome views and interpretive signage. An antique carousel was beautifully restored as well.
Special events
One of the best things about Fall River Heritage State Park is how it was embraced by the community; the people of Fall River use the large meadow to host a summer concert series that draws huge crowds. The park is also used for outdoor movies, festivals and more.
Fall River Heritage State Park is a great place to visit year-round, with locals loving the awesome things to do that the community provides.
