The small lake is alternately surrounded by beaches and stands of trees, offering plenty of room for playing and sunning as well as pleasant scenery to look at while waiting for the fish to bite. The boat ramp and calm waters offer fun boating of all kinds, and minimize the possibility that your canoe or kayak gets overturned. Perhaps fans of this lovely little park are trying to keep crowds from overrunning it!

Picnic areas, some of them covered, create the ideal places to spend a relaxing day. Accessibility by public transportation and handicapped-accessible beaches and restrooms make this park a good choice for all. This is a day-use recreation area—the park hours are 11:00am to 7:00pm daily, with a $5 parking fee—but there are several overnight campgrounds nearby that charge a very small fee for a night of camping, so you can come back day after day.
