Quinsigamond State Park

Quinsigamond State Park is a mecca for boating enthusiasts in the Metro-West area (the widespread suburban area west of Boston) of Massachusetts. Located on the sprawling Qunsigamond lake, the park is widely used as a jumping off point for sailing and rowing crews. It also has small beaches with swimming areas, and it is a nice place to relax and have a family picnic with views of the water.
A nice local day trip
Quinsigamond State Park consists of two areas: Regatta Point and Lake Park. Regatta Point is a great place to watch the boats crewing up and taking off on the world-renowned rowing course in the lake. It has a swimming area, as well as plenty of grassy areas and shade trees for picnicking. Lake Park is less focused on the boats and has its own swimming and picnicking areas as well. Overall, the park is a great resource for the community, serving as a great place for local families to visit. While visitors to the area might appreciate an exciting Regatta day, the park is probably not a must-see in the Worcester area otherwise.
Check a local events calendar before visiting the park- you may want to make a point to go to the park on a Regatta day as a spectator, or you may want to avoid the park on those days if you are not looking for a crowd. This is a spectacular choice of place to take the kids on a hot day for a quick swim and to watch the boats.
