Rutland State Park

Located just off Highway 122 in Massachusetts sits beautiful Rutland State Park. The proximity to several nearby campgrounds make Rutland an ideal day trip away from camp for the family. Rutland is home to hundreds of miles of incredible biking and hiking trails.
Hiking and biking
Biking and hiking trails abound for every backpacker and cyclist alike. From the novice day hiker to the experienced long-trail mountain-biker, Rutland has a trail. Regardless of your experience, you are sure to find a trail to suit your needs. The winding trails snake through a myriad of landscapes from a plush, green haven to some rather rocky terrain on the experienced trails. While suitable for most any kind of bike, all terrain or mountain bikes are the recommended choice.
Water sports
If water sports are what you enjoy, Rutland has that, too. The family can spend the day in the lake or the smaller Whitehall Pond. The pond allows non-motorized boating (canoeing and kayaking) as well as swimming. Safety gear is recommended at all times for everyone.

Come to Rutland State Park for a picnic lunch or for the whole day. There is something for everyone in your group. The weather is cooperative almost all year long, with the temperatures averaging 80’s in the summer months and 30’s in the winter.
